Rental of our facilities includes the use of the space for the specific date and time contracted. Rental equipment is available through our preferred vendors. Rental Fees directly benefit Habitat Gaston’s building program.

About Us
What We Do

Habitat for Humanity of Gaston County is a non-profit, ecumenical, Christian-based organization with private non-profit status and an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat Gaston uses volunteer labor to build affordable homes in partnership with those in need here in Gaston County and in Honduras. Habitat’s simple, affordable homes have 0% interest mortgages. Mortgage payments from homeowners are recycled back into the Habitat building program to fund more Habitat homes.

Habitat honors memory of community champion

When I drive by the Habitat for Humanity offices and ReStore in Gastonia, I think about Johan Newcombe. I suspect a lot of other folks who remember her tireless dedication to the Christian-based home building program do, too.

In 1988, Newcombe and another longtime community leader -- Becky Carter -- teamed up to establish the county's first Habitat chapter.
